Goodies
(Optional Extras - Genuine Honda accessories)
Although I propose to list the 'extras' it would be usefull to have some feedback about them. e.g. costs, usefullness, effects on handling, installation tips, cheapest place to buy them. The prices quoted are for genuine Honda Parts (not including fitting) and were current as of April 2nd 2001.
Please put a note in the guestbook or email me and I will add your comments to this page against the various items.

I have read various reports on the tall screen. Some good some not so good. Complaints suggest that it affects handling and it is not all that effective. Comments please.

I had a socket fitted when the bike was new. It goes in the left hand side glove box in the fairing. I use it for charging my mobile phone when touring. Although the fitting is neat when the charger is plugged in it takes up a lot of space and only just leaves enough room for the phone and a pair of sun glassess.
I ordered a 35Lt top box when I bought the bike. After five had been delivered to the dealers, all the wrong colour, the dealer finnaly found out that Honda don't make a red one. The only option left was to buy the 45Lt box.
Fitting is neat and the box can be removed easily when not in use. It holds enough gear for a weekend when riding two up and is capable of holding two full face helmets. It is worth fitting the back pad as without it the pillion gets the hard plastic ridges in the back. Not much fun on a long trip.
It does affect the handling though, especially in cross winds.

Most of us have put some sort of 'goodies' on our Deauvilles. Check the ones you have added and then click on submit.
If you have any comments about your 'goodies' then either email me, or leave a message in the guestbook
(The results of this poll are by the items)
Recent comments suggest that the screen is easy to fit, but a bit fiddly to super glue the rubber trim on. However it does help protect from the worst of the weather.
